..Mauritius..

I was in Mauritius for a dear mate's wedding.. I had so much fun...

Highlights...

Quad biking - driving real fast onto puddles.. Stealing sugar cane from fields.. snorkeling with pretty little fish.. lying 0n beautiful beaches, getting tipsy on rum tasting tours, dancing - well trying to dance the sega (traditional Mauritian dance) the music and dance is a lot like baila but with more hip shaking and Creole.. endless extravagant wedding celebrations.. lotsa kisses (most of the folks there thought I was a local and talk to me in Creole/French) most of my mate's relatives also assumed I'm a relative and would come up and kiss me, too funny.. Making new friends, getting to know existing ones better.. beer and killer uno afterparty till late/early.. thong (the other kind) throwing competition.. breaking into song and dance at almost all the functions.. the "neighbors" special at the Sangeet night.. The Aussies were a big hit.. hehehe

A friend from Sydney, who is a pastor preached at my mate's church, about faith and used me to illustrate a point (and try to be funny, well I wasn't laughing!) now I have an AOG church in Palma praying for me to get married ! He also taught me how to make half-boiled eggs properly (the German way apparently)..

I had an awesome time, made some great friends (which is always handy to have), adopted my mate's Mauritian family.. they are SO lovely !! Maybe it's an Island thing, I feel more at home in most Islands.. that's probably why I call Australia home... ;)
